No more purling, hooray!
A week and a half later and I’ve finally joined Rusted Root in the round. I decided to drop the neckline by 6 inches. Six inches might sound like a lot, but I suspect it will end up quite modest when I pick up stitches and add the ribbing.
I am very glad that I’m finally working in the round. As mentioned before, I’m not great at producing even stitches when I’m working back and forth and I don’t have a good way to hold the needles when I purl. Blocking should take care of most of the unevenness, and my progress should pick up the pace now that I won’t need to stop to let my hand uncramp.
I’ve noticed one thing that I’m not too keen on with the Knitpicks Options needles: the set doesn’t come with a needle cable long enough to use to try the sweater on while it’s on the needles. My old Denise Interchangeable needles had a super long cable included — though, now that I’m thinking of it, I’m might have purchased that separately — and I miss it. It looks like Knitpicks does offer some extra long cables; I’ll need to pick up a pair. After all, most of the beauty of knitting a top-down sweater is being able to try it on while you go.
