The blurry pictures weren’t me, after all
I bought a new camera. I love it. It’s a Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS. It was $150. It is tiny and light. It has more options than I currently know what to do with, but I’m working on that. It takes crisp pictures. I love it.
I last bought a camera in 2002. It was a Kodak EasyShare LS443, and it was about $500 at the time, over three times as much as my new camera. It is more than twice the size and weighs about twice as much as my new camera. It is 4.0 megapixels, half as much as my current camera. Although I’ve dropped this camera more times than I can count, even on the Kodak’s best day it couldn’t match the Canon’s image stabilization. And, hey, I haven’t been able to properly recharge the Kodak since before I went to Barcelona, a year and a half ago.
All of this is just to say that the likelihood of updating this is much higher now that I don’t have to rely on my iPhone camera. Knitting posts are a lot more fun with pictures.
Superman
I took this photo the first week of June, but as of Friday he was still standing guard on the corner of Ohio and Franklin, watching traffic coming into the city. I’m a sucker for found objects, especially well-worn toys, and this is no exception.
