Problem solved!
I think I’ve figured out my project for next week: Hey, Teach! using EcoKnits organic cotton in Olive.
Let’s see how it stacks up against my criteria:
- The pattern should be easy to intermediate difficulty. Check! Knitty lists it as piquant, but it’s only a 12 row lace pattern, and a lot of it is simple ribbing and stockinette.
- The yarn should be from my stash. Check! I’ve got more than enough to knit the sweater, even allowing for potential upsizing depending on my gauge.
- I’d love to be able to use whatever I make as soon as I finish it. Check! It’s a lacy cardigan in cotton.
It isn’t orange, though. Not sure what to make of that.
Hey, Teach!
Knitty’s summer ‘08 surprises are up and I’ve fallen for Hey, Teach! It fits my personal style and is totally wearable. I might even knit it without any modifications.
Oh, ok, I would modify it so that I knit the bodice until it was an appropriate length under the bust instead of knitting to a prescribed length. And I would knit the length to hit a little lower on the hip. While I’m at it, I might want to knit it from the top down instead of the bottom up. Other than those, though, no modifications!
